org Position Summary The Housekeeping Manager is responsible for planning, organizing, and developing of the overall operation of the housekeeping department to a high standard of cleanliness, observing all guidelines regarding infection control and local standards while assuring the highest degree of quality patient and visitor care is maintained at all times.
Responsible for staffing, scheduling, training and developing all staff.
Position Duties (Not all Inclusive) Trains and orients new employees and provides instruction and guidance Planning, organizing and directing team members to ensure the highest degree of patient satisfaction and high standards of cleanliness across the hospital.
Preparing daily assignment/schedules and specifies areas to be cleaned and ensure that all department have daily housekeeping coverage including trash pickup.
Monitor, Checks and maintains standards of cleanliness within all areas of the hospital on a daily basis.
Manage the daily activities and supervision of all housekeeping staff and performance to include appropriate cleaning of all patient rooms, public areas and offices.
Tours hospital environment regularly covering each assigned area to observe cleaning crews and to determine compliance with instructions and quality of work.
Introduces and instructs personnel in use of new equipment technique, chemicals, cleaning products and methods and documents training/competence and sends to HR for their file.
Adheres to all meetings such as health and safety, infection prevention and control, monthly team meetings.
Ensures maintenance of inventory of cleaning materials and supplies including linens.
Inspects housekeeping equipment, laundry equipment and floor tech equipment for proper functioning Maintains established hospital and department policies, procedures, objective, quality assurance, infection control and safety Manages the housekeeping budget, position control, and control the holidays and staff schedule.
Maintains confidentiality at all times within the department and maintains HIPAA/Hospital confidentiality.
Shows initiative and respect to patients, staff, and visitors.
Promotes positive altitude for all employees to follow.
